Penpile®, patented by PENNINE is an auger displacement piling system designed for use in most ground conditions. The piles can be used for load bearing or for settlement control. The specially designed drilling head displaces the soil laterally as it penetrates to design depth and concrete is pumped in to construct the pile; the base is rammed in granular soils to increase its diameter.

The PENNINE Data Logger records concrete pumping pressures and is used as a quality control tool to ensure continuity of the concrete pile shaft.

Penpile® is available in diameters from 200-600mm and will carry safe working loads up to 1200kN (subject to ground conditions), it can be installed in lengths up to 24m and in suitable ground conditions an enlarged base can be formed as an integral part of the construction process, this not only enhances the bearing capacity but will save costs by reducing the overall pile length.

The installation of Penpiles® is virtually noise and vibration free, and with limited spoil generation, Penpile® is ideal for sites where the removal of contaminated spoil is to be avoided or where planning constraints or site access necessitates minimising vehicle movements.

Why use Penpile?

low noise and vibration levels

virtually no spoil generated

can be used in most soil types

quicker than conventional piling

economical

load settlement control with a load transform platform
